The reliable function of hydraulic and lubrication systems depend to a high extend on a stable operating temperature of the oil. Therefore it is essential that the actual temperature is timely and accurately measured. Normally it is done inside of the tank due to a representative average to be expected. The cover of the tank is the preferred spot for the installation of the sensors penetrating down into the liquid. The sole measurement of temperature is recommended only if combined sensors with the level controls are not applicable.
